next few days

Durban.
We arrived into a gloomy Durban, the weather was overcast and drizzly.
Its a bit like the Gold Coast with higrises a road back from the beach and a long promenade to walk along.
We went for a walk for miles. Next morning we awoke to grey and rain. Johan took us on a ticky tour around his old areas.
We saw where his parents used to live, went to a very cool old church. We braved some of the 'darker' markets.
Everywhere you go there are so few whites, and its teeming with people everywhere! We got the girls braclets at a real authentic market.
The place were were staying in, for NZ $100 a night with breakfast, was amazing. We were on the 15th floor, all the tiles looked marble.
They had chandelers hanging everywhere and the breakfast...!!! Starched white linen napkins and the food - there was everything!
I love all the fresh fruit platters there seems to be everywhere we go. I am getting heaps of guava juice every day. Yum.
We didn't have much luck with internet there, we paid R50 for 100mb but we kept getting too poor a signal to do anything.
At one stage I managed to get on enough for Facebook to load, but then I couldnt click on anything to open it or send anything.
I did manage to see Kita had had her baby finally.
Next day it was a drive down the coast, following the coast line, with lots of stop offs to see where JOhan lived, his first house, his old
job sites where he had put in retaining walls etc. The roads are the pits if you are off 'the' main road. Lots of potholes.
It was quite a gloomy trip because of the weather, really thick grey and drizzle.azing, you are driving through a dusty sad looking town,
then you stop at a mall and inside its a different world - could be a mall anywhere in the world.
Marget Bay.
I started to get a bit worried that we wouldn't find accomodation, we had these 2 nights that we hadnt booked before we left NZ.
Although the holidays don't start till next week, being a seaside resort, and looking like there were quite a few people around - and more whites.
Anyway we found a self contained apartment right on the beach. We are on the top floor (5th) with a deck straight onto the ocean.
 Its a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom unit ($100NZ). Prices for accomodation and eat out food is so much cheaper, supermarket shopping is about the same.
We had the most amazing thunder and lightening storm last night, it just boomed around the hills. But we have woken up to a beautiful blue sky day.
One of the shop keepers said people were thinking it was the end of the world as the storm was so unusual and long and loud
We had to eat out for breakfast this morning, I had muesli and fruit and yogurt, and a glass of guava. Johan had bacon, eggs, toast toms etc and coffee
and it came to $10 all up and we were thinking thats more than what we usually pay here.
We bought some wedding shoes for Sam today ;) and a gift for Reubs, that he and Ryan will enjoy ;) I even bought 2 pairs of shoes for myself.
Jandals costs me R35 (NZ $5) and some cool crocs for R55 (NZ $8). I left my crocs somewhere along the way. I think thats all we have left so far.
Ok. thats the catch up, off out to enjoy. Ohh and while walking along the beachfront looking at all the black stalls, there was a lady pushing a pushchair with a baby bottle bottle in her hand and a MONKEY in a disposable nappy clinging on in the push chair! she was getting strage looks from the blacks so I dont think it was normal! It was the type of monkey that you see everywhere. (another day now and we left at 7 am this morn and got here to east london at 4 pm non stop.
