days later...

Its been a while.
Opa only has dial up internet so no way we can use that.
We arrived in Swellendam mid afternoon after an awesome drive through the mountain ranges (800 mts above sea).
Our final overnighter before arriving with family.
The place had a pool which was at 31 so even Johan enjoyed it. The couple who ran it were German, really friendly and chatty.
We spent the evening around the pool chatting with a couple from Finland who had adopted to black kids.
In the morning we were on the road at 6 for the home straight. We went through a lot of barren land, some in wheat, some with stock
but very dry. We arrived at Ma and Pa's in time for morning tea :) Their pool is 33 and we enjoyed it lots and often!
Its hot here, but a dry heat and there's always a breeze if not full blowen wind!
We spent 2 days and nights with them before packing up again and moving to Ankies. Ankie lives a 10 min walk away from Opas.
We spent the morning at Ankies repacking everything ready to head up to Langabaan, which is 1.15 hours up the west coast.
Its lovely here too. This is Ankies holiday home. (Ankie is Johan's sister). So we are here now with Ankie and her 2 boys Clive and Paul,
and Clive's girlfriend Camile who is French but been here for 16 years, shes 18 now. We have gone to take the dog for a walk and had to change path as the ostrich was just ahead, we have been up north about 40 min and seen other beaches and bought crayfish off the boat as they come in, for R40 each (NZ $6), we have been down to the lagoon (which is huge) for a walk over all the shrimp holes and had to turn around- again because of an ostrich in our path.
We have seen buck, a mongoose and ostriches all within spitting dostance of home. This morning Paul was making everyone omlet and called me over to see in a cupboard he had just opened
in the kitchen, it was a little snake! Johan identified it quickly as a night adder which IS dangerous! After my fear of seeing a snake and him telling me I'd be fine and wouldnt come accross one
I didn't even leave the safety of home!! Paul put it over the garden fence.
On Friday we head back to Capetown for Opas birthday but until then we are having a great time taking it easy, playing cards, seeing the sights and enjoying the good company.
My tummy is still not right, my charcol pills are my friends (they kill toxins) and today I managed to get a worm pill so if there is a parasite I hope that will get it!
We have no internet upi here so have to use our sim card and put it in the tablet if we want to quickly go on line.
We have someone keen on our house, and Sam did a great job showing them through, they have contacted us via email asking questions so we got on to respond to those.
For real internet we will wait until we are back at Ankies from Friday onwards, then we'll get some photos up.
