Whale watching

Our car has been written off, hopefully the insurance money will be in the bank soon.
When we first arrived and were staying in the GC we bought some cheap whale watching tickets. When we got up here to Redcliff we found that there is a whale watching boat that leaves from here, but a different company.
Anyway - we had these tickets to use so we decided last weekend was the weekend and booked some accomodation so we could spend 2 nights down on the coast.
The accomodation was the same place we stayed when we first arrived but this time we were up on the 8th floor and directly facing the ocean.

We even saw whales spouting from the window :)
The weather as usual was beautiful and sea was great, I went for a swim in the surf, Johan didn't.
We had a lovely time going to the market, and habour town, wombling around surfers paradise and just taking in the atmosphere. Sunday morning we got on the boat and went for 30min through the waterways before getting out to the ocean, it was pretty choppy and everyone was advised to take sealeg pills, but it wasn't bad and as soon as we started seeing whales the swell was totally forgotten :)
There were whales on either side of us and they kept leaping out of the water which was awesome. None came close to the boat, and the boats aren't allowed to go close to the whales. We spent aboout an hour just bobbing about watching these awesome mamals.

All in all a great weekend.
