baby van Nieuwburg
We are Opa and Oma to a beautiful baby girl Alexi Angel van Nieuwburg. Jacques and Sarah's baby daughter was born on the 17th. Poor Sarah needed forceps to bring Alexi into the world, but they are both happy and healthy and now home with Jacques. Sarah says "she's perfect, she only woke up four times last night" ! Hmm glad my days of 4 times a night feeding are well and truly over.
A very proud Opa Johan is flying out on Friday (from Kerikeri) to go and see his little Granddaughter, a 'flying visit' as he's back again on Wednesday. He has strict instructions to take lots of photos - so not the same as me being there, but will have to do for now.
Only a month till we are off to South Africa! Its going to be such a busy time up till then. The girls and I finish school on the 23rd and then we are all packed and off to Auckland the following day, we leave the girls in Auckland where they will spend a week together before flying back to their own countries, and we spend the night in Auckland beofre flying off to Perth.
My neice Sam and her fiance are coming back up to stay while we are away. They are trying to save for their wedding and Ryan has been offered work with a company he was working for in Rotorua beofre they went bust, so yay, he will have work, they can save money, and I have someone in the house that I knkow will keep it spotless while it is on the market, and Reubs has company he likes and knows while we are away. :)
Our house is now on the market with a real estate compnay, so hopefully we have some action soon. Would be nice if it was all sold and ready to change hands mid January, thats our ideal anyway. For now we are living in a very spruced up tidy home and its lovely. Decks are stained and gardens tidy and now summer is on its way the place is lovely again - not so nice in winter, but come summer we fall in love with it again... but still... time to move on...
