ho hum

No too much to report...
We got hit with the cyclone last weekend. Reuben had a river running through his room so all the carpet has had to come out. He and I spent hours during the middle of the night trying to mop and wring out with towels till we gave up and let it do it's thing.
Johan and I went to work about 7 pm to pick up a pump so we could pump water out of the tank so it didn't overflow and go down the lawn and through under the house. On our way back from work the water on our raod was deeper than we thought and we got stuck in the middle where the river was charging over the road. I ran (hhuffed and puffed in barefeet!) up the hill and home to get a rope and my car, it was still pelting down throughout, did so for 12 hours, while I was away one of the neighbours towed him out. His car is still out of action, we think there might be serious damage.
So - the tank flooded, under the house was a wash, reuben's room was reduced to smelly carpet. The next morning we woke up to sunshine and blue skies! and lots of cleaning up! 10 loads of washing later and lots of hard work for Reuben, we are heading back to normal.
We have been very spoilt getting free transport costs including petrol with Johan's work car. BUT unfortunately with it out of action, we are debating whether we can now afford to go to my girlfriend' daughter's wedding in Wellington this weekend. We were going Thur arvo to Monday evening and spending a night in taupo, a night with Lelanie, catching up on her wedding plans and meeting the inlaws for brunch,a night in Pram and the wedding, a night with Sez. Our daughter's wedding is a definite consideration in our spendys at the moment:) So we will see... some time to ourselves or some money not spent... hmm.
School goes back today for the girls, they are both looking forward to being back although they both had great holidays.
The weather is aweome now, we were all in the pool at various stages yesterday after work. Looks like the week and weekend are going to continue to be great.
Fie's parents arrive here from Belguim next Thur night, they leave again on Sat morning to join a cruise from Auckland. They won't be staying with us but it will be nice to meet them.
