Our holiday was awesome. We had an amazing time. We did so much walking we were both (yup, not just me :) ) exhausted and sore at the end of each day. We were close to Darling Habour and spent a lot of time there. The place is so alive! even on a Sunday night you can go shopping and the restaurants and bars are always buzzing. We walked home each night through busy streets. We went to 'the rocks', the paddys market, Manly, Bondi, up to Paramatta, into the Blue Mountains, chinatown. We got a travel pass which meant we could use almost any train, bus or ferry we wanted. When we got to tired and sore from walking we'd jump on a ferry and just sit and enjoy the sights. I can't get over how alive it was no matter what time of day or night. Even 6 in the morning there's plenty of people around. We can't think of a highlight - we tried, but it was all so good. We missed the dust storm by hours so when we arrived at 7 on the Thursday morning it had just cleared and we got only blue skies. It came back a bit over night on Friday so Saturday morning was a bit hazy to wake up to but it was gone by 9. I could certainly live in that climate. We spent more on food than anything else. We didn't find things cheap, although if we were getting their wage (which is generaly better than ours) then we would be better off, and they say buying furniture and power etc is heaps cheaper than here. I have more photos on my facebook if you want to go and have a look there. Coming home was a saga but still didn't spoil the holiday.

so why did it take 27 hours to get home?!?
because we had to wait 6 hours before being told our flight was cancelled, then wait an hour to get a rebooking and a hotel, sleep for 5 hours, back to aiport fly to Melbourne, wait delayed flight to Auck, bus to Ham and then drive home.
